Fred worked for Dominion Electric Protection in Winnipeg from 1959 to 1965. In 1965, he took up a position with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) and was transferred to Saskatoon, SK. In August 1969, Fred went back to school at the University of Saskatchewan. Fred moved to Penticton in the early 1990's, in search of a better climate. He retired from work, but not from life.

Fred was a self taught woodworker, who has left many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family. He was a perfectionist. In 2001, he took up stained-glass and again produced a number of master pieces. You may view some of Fred's stained-glass work at: www.denalidesigns.ca

Fred was an avid golfer, bird watcher (this hobby is strongly evident in his stained glass work) and nature lover. He travelled to Hawaii many times -- the last time to the Big Island was from December 2004 to January 2005. Fred was the caring father of three daughters and grandfather of eight grandchildren.

Fred is fondly remembered and missed by all those who knew and loved him.
